Change the return period on Amazon

Shortening the return period
Starting April 25, Amazon will reduce the time it takes to return many items from 30 to 14 days. This change primarily affects products in the areas of electronics, cameras, office supplies, music, films and video games. Amazon devices and refurbished products remain excluded from this adjustment, as are most other items that can still be returned within 30 days. A spokesperson for the company emphasized that the return policy and return date information is shown well below the price of the products. With this measure, Amazon is adapting to the legal minimum period for returns, which is two weeks, following a trend that is already standard with many other retailers.
Effects on retailers and sellers
For retailers and sellers on Amazon, this change could have both positive and negative effects. On the one hand, the shortened return period could result in a reduction in the number of returns, which could reduce logistics and processing costs and improve profitability. On the other hand, customers who prefer a longer return period could be reluctant to make purchases, which could have a negative impact on sales figures. Retailers and sellers must therefore adjust their return and customer service policies and possibly take additional measures to maintain customer trust and ensure a smooth transition.
