The ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number) is an internal catalogue number. Every product on Amazon is assigned a unique ASIN, which is included in the web address (URL) of each product. This can also be viewed on the respective product page of an item. The ASIN thus plays an important role in managing the product catalogue. The unique ASINs facilitate the search and grouping of their products for merchants, and also provide protection against counterfeiting.
